The melon or Cantaloupe is one of the most unique and delicious musky-flavored fruit among the big Cucurbitaceae family.
The best conditions for its growth is healthy and dry sandy soil and the most important are the honeybees which help with their pollination. Fighting the heat these periods is one of our main daily priority. Having one of these sweet refreshment bombs by your side will surely come in hand when you`ll start feeling weaken.
The melon is very low in fats and calories (34 calories in 100 grams) and is rich with many vitamins and minerals. The most present vitamin is the Vitamin A (in 100 g there are some 112% of the recommended daily intake). The Vitamin A is an excellent antioxidant and perfect natural remedy for vision improvement.
Among the other antioxidant bioflavonoids found in its substitution are lutein, cryptoxanthin, zea-xanthin and the beta-carotene.
These were only few of the many healthy benefits of melon. One thing that is for sure is that this is definitely one of the healthiest fruits and should be included in our diet as much often as possible.

1. Clean the melon from its seeds and slice it in small cubes.
