Tofu Cheese – Our Healing and Delicious Ally

The soy cheese, also known as Tofu is produced similar like cheese, with clotting of proteins into the soy milk.

The soy provides large amounts of high-quality vegetable protein. In the healthy food shops, it can be found in different types in a form of a soy milk, soy cakes or tempeh.

Because of the richness of protein in its composition, the tofu is one of the best meat substitutes, most commonly used by the vegetarians.

Tofu Cheese Health Benefits

Professor Hademar Bankhofer says tofu strengthens the heart and reduces the risk of cancer.

People who take care of their body weight, gladly eat this food and the reason for this is that this cheese from soy has few calories and has no cholesterol at all.

Although the name is easy to remember, few know its true meaning. It comes from the two Chinese words “To” for grain and “Fu” which means cheese, because the tofu is made from soy beans.

Tofu is very delicious when it’s well spiced. The spiced tofu can be simmer, boiled or fried and eaten with vegetables.

The Health Benefits

Tofu, same as the all soy products, affects positively on health. It has been proven that tofu can reduce high blood pressure and the high level of LDL- cholesterol.
Tofu strengthens the heart and bloodstream.

Soy contains phytoestrogens which posses anticancer properties in cases of breast, prostate, colon, lung and ulcer cancer.

Soy isoflavones mimic the action of tamoxifen (a drug administered to hormone – dependent breast cancer).

It is thought that tofu can reduce the risk of breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men.

This protective effect of tofu is explained by the fact that soy protein in the body, gets transformed into anticancer substances.
