Black Tea – The Healthiest Coffee Substitute

Black tea compared to its “brothers” has the highest amount of caffeine, which means that this tea is an ideal replacement for the coffee and the energy drinks.

The Black tea comes from the same plant as the green tea, but because of the different way of processing, it loses its green color and then gets that brownish-black look.

In almost all tests it was confirmed that the black tea has a great effect on the health of the heart and blood vessels. The researchers say that most particularly well is that it prevents inflammations to the walls of blood vessels and thus prevents many diseases.

It is also known as “Indian black tea”. It is known for its special flavor because it contains the most caffeine quantities of all teas, and thus, this is what it makes it the healthiest coffee substitute.

It also belongs among the top selling herbs in Western countries, and actually as scientists love to say it is the brother of green tea because both come from the plant Camellia Sinensis plant. From this herb besides the green and black tea, the white tea also is obtained, and all three together have great impact on the body.

How to consume

The daily consumption of black tea in reasonable amounts is not harmful at all, on the contrary it improves health and helps to achieve optimal hydration. In order not to overdo the intake of caffeine through the black tea, the maximum daily dosage would be 2-3 cups of tea.

How to prepare

Put one teaspoon of black tea in 1cup (2,5dl) of water or to 1l of water, one large spoonful of tea. Keep the black tea soaked in the water for some 2 minutes and then drain it.

During this period, the antioxidants come out to the surface and thus make better effect on the body while you drink the tea.

Besides it’s tasty without any additions in it, you can still add some drops of milk or sugar to taste.  This is one of those types of teas that are usually consumed without an addition of honey and lemon.
